BOLTON, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut State Police say an 89-year-old woman is dead after a boater pulled her from a lake in Bolton over the weekend.
Authorities confirmed the death of Virginia Bergstrom on Sunday. A passing boater found Bergstrom unresponsive in Bolton Lake at about 5:45 p.m. Saturday.
The boater pulled the Bolton woman from the water and brought her to shore. First responders performed CPR on Bergstrom before rushing her to Manchester Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.
State police say Bergstrom lived not far from the lake. Neighbors reported seeing her swimming in the lake approximately an hour before she was found unresponsive.
