OLD LYME, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut State Police says the death of an infant found at an Old Lyme home earlier this month does not appear to be criminal in
Trooper Tyler Weerden tells The Day (http://bit.ly/2bcf9YO ) of New London that the investigation into the 6-month-old child’s death has not been completed, but that the incident was likely “non-criminal.”
Police and emergency personnel responded to a Portland Avenue home at about 9:45 a.m. Aug. 14 to find the child unresponsive. After revival efforts at the scene, the child was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead.
State police investigated because there were no witnesses to the death.
No cause of the death has been given. The child’s name was not publicly disclosed.
