Fatal Shooting In Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) – Police in Hartford are investigating the city’s 12th homicide this year after a 40-year-old man was gunned down by an unknown shooter.

Officers were dispatched to the scene near the intersection of Maine and Cleveland streets around 8:20 p.m. Thursday following reports of the shooting.

Police say Joseph Jiles was found unresponsive after suffering a single gunshot wound to his triceps.

Jiles was rushed to Hartford Hospital, where he died a short time later.

Major Crimes Division detectives and Hartford’s Shooting Task Force are investigating.

Police officials said they do not have a suspect at this time.

Police are asking any potential witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.
