Teen Falls 20 feet From Rope Swing At Torrington Pond

TORRINGTON, Conn. (AP) – State Environmental Conservation police are investigating after a 17-year-old boy was injured in a fall at a Torrington pond.

Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officials say the teen fell 20 feet from a rope swing at Stillwater Pond on Tuesday afternoon.

The boy was rushed to Waterbury Hospital for treatment.

The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.

Stillwater Pond is not a guarded swim area and does not have lifeguards on duty at any time. It is mainly used for fishing and boating.
