OLD LYME, Conn. (AP) – Connecticut State Police detectives are investigating the death of a 6-month-old who was found unresponsive in Old Lyme over the weekend.
Authorities say the baby was unresponsive when troopers and emergency personnel arrived at a Portland Avenue home around 9:45 a.m. Sunday.
Trooper Tyler Weerden says first responders attempted to revive the child, but the victim was pronounced dead at Middlesex Shoreline Clinic.
Detectives with the Central District Major Crime Squad are leading the investigation. An autopsy will be conducted by the chief medical examiner’s office.
Weerden says there is no immediate information on a possible cause of death for the child.
