Police: Driver Was On Phone, Under Influence In Deadly Shelton Crash

(CBS Connecticut) — An arrest has been made in a deadly crash in Shelton, in which the surviving driver was allegedly on her phone and intoxicated.

Rosemarie Dwyer was killed in a head-on accident on River Road back on May 6.

Twenty-three year-old Samantha Monaco is now charged with manslaughter. Police say she was driving under the influence, and using her cell phone at the time of the crashed.

She crossed over into the oncoming lane, and hit the other vehicle head-on.
