BRIDGEWATER, Conn. (AP) _ Connecticut State Police are still searching for a home intruder who shot a man in Bridgewater and possibly fled the scene in a stolen car.
Troopers were called to a residence on South Main Street South around 3:40 a.m. Thursday. Trooper Kelly Grant says police determined at least one male suspect entered the home and one shot was fired.
The victim, 64-year-old Victor Compe, suffered a gunshot wound that police say is not life-threatening. He remained hospitalized on Friday. His wife also was home but was not injured.
The focus of the investigation has turned to three stolen cars, including two that were recovered in Waterbury and another in Bridgewater.
State police say the suspect is described as a light-skinned white or Hispanic male. No further description was given.
