(Vernon, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Police in Vernon are charging a woman after they say she sprayed lighter fluid at a group of people during an argument Tuesday night.
Just after 9:30 p.m., police were called to the back of 74-76 Union Street on a disturbance report.
Investigators learned a three-year-old child had been taunting 48-year-old Laverne Mayo through a window.
An argument broke out among several adults, says police, after which they Mayo allegedly squirted the lighter fluid toward the directon of the group.
One adult was hit protecting a 15-year-old but was not injured.
Mayo was arrested and charged with breach of peace and risk of injury. Bond was set at $5,000 pending a court hearing today in Rockville.
