Geno Auriemma On Pat Summitt’s Legacy

WEST HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) —Pat Summitt, the hard-driving coach who lead the University of Tennessee Womens Basketball Team to eight national titles, has died at age 64 after battling early onset dementia.

UConn Womens Basketball head coach Geno Auriemma was Summitt’s fiercest rival over the years, and he reacted to news of her passing.  “She made it okay for women to stare you down on the sideline, and be upset, and show emotion.”

At his charity golf tournament in West Hartford, Auriemma said the name Pat Summitt and Womens Basketball will never be separated.
