HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut and AP) – Connecticut State Police say a student has been detained in connection with a threat that forced a lockdown at a high school in Hartford. No one was injured.
City officers and a state police SWAT team responded to Prince Technical High School on Thursday morning.
Hartford Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley says someone made a threat on social media. He says initial reports of a student with a handgun at the school were incorrect. He says students are safe and he expects the lockdown to be lifted shortly.
Details of the threat weren’t disclosed.
A school official declined to comment Thursday morning.
Many concerned parents gathered outside the school and were waiting to see their children.
