(ESSEX,Conn./CBS/Connecticut)  –  State Police have made an arrest in   a Wednesday afternoon  robbery at the First Niagara Bank  on Main Street in the Centerbrook section of Essex.Shortly after the 1:15  robbery  police learned the suspect, 25 year old Travis Gahran  of Ivoryton took public transportation and was dropped off  near the intersection of  Route 154 and Route 80 in Deep River.

Gahran  was apprehended  at about 1:45 and  a large amount of the stolen cash was recovered.

No weapon was  used during the robbery and there  were no injuries.

Gahran  is charged with Robbery and Larceny and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bond for an appearance in Middletown Superior Court Thursday.
