Fire Routs Bridgeport Home

(Bridgeport, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A child was rescued by neighbors after a fire this afternoon in Bridgeport.

Units arrived on the scene of a Wayne Street home around one o’clock.

Fire Commissioner James Meszoros, who happened to be in the area, also helped an elderly resident escape.

No injuries were reported.

The home sustained heavy smoke and fire damage to the third floor.

There’s no word yet on a cause.

The investigation is continuing.
