(CBS Connecticut)–Police say Tyler Santoro, 31, was involved in a domestic dispute on Sunday when he stole a neighbor’s car on old Waterbury Road in Southbury.
A trooper spotted the car Monday in Woodbury and, along with a Woodbury town officer, tried to stop the vehicle. The driver tried to ram the patrol cars and crashed the vehicle in Washington where investigators say Santoro displayed a weapon and refused to drop it. The trooper and officer fired shots at Santoro who then put a knife to his own throat. He was tasered and forcibly removed from the vehicle.
He’s being held on 250-thousand dollars bond. Santoro, the trooper and the officer all suffered non-life threatening injuries.
