UConn’s Amilo Awarded Basketball Scholarship

(CBS Connecticut) —  UConn men’s basketball coach Kevin Ollie says walk-on player Nnamdi Amilo of New Fairfield, who was a walk-on player last season,  has been awarded a scholarship for the coming season.  It brings the Huskies’ scholarship roster to 12.

Amilo, who is 6-foot-2, played in two games last season, and the school says his daily work in practice helped the team prepare for their road to the national championship.

Amilo,  who played three years of varsity basketball at Avon Old Farms High School,  was top scholar in his class and is majoring in molecular cell biology with plans for a career in medicine.
