Church Youth Group Leader Sentenced In Underage Sex Case

(CBS Connecticut) _ A former youth group leader at a New Canaan church was sentenced in Norwalk Superior Court today. She was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

Twenty-six year-old Morgan Frawley avoids jail time. Instead, she was given a 10-year suspended sentence with 10-years of probation.

She must register as a sex offender, and the judge ordered her to stay away from minors, and to stay away from the teenage boy in this case.

She must also get mental health treatment.

Frawley was arrested last year, after police said they found text messages between her and the boy describing sex acts.

Shortly after her arrest, an attorney for the boy’s family told the Greenwich Time that there was no sex between the teenager, and the church group leader.

At her sentencing, a sexual assault charge was dropped.  She was convicted of risk of injury to a minor.
