Police Say Woman Ran Up $200+ Cab Fare — Then Refused To Pay
(CBS Connecticut) -- Glastonbury police say a local woman faces larceny charges after she called a cab to drive her around the area — but then refused to pay him.
Police say 53-year-old Linda Hatcher used the cab as something of a personal livery service — having the driver wait while she went into shops, including a jewelry store – before returning home about five hours later, unable to pay the fare. Police say it amounted to $207.30.
She’s due in court later this month.
