Parking App Launched Today For West Hartford

(CBS Connecticut) — As of today, people have a new way to feed the meter — metaphorically — in West Hartford.

Municipal Parking Division Operations Manager Brooke Nelson says a smart phone app allows people to pay for parking remotely.

“You can extend your parking session,” Nelson said. “You can add time to it from anywhere, you do not need to interact with the pay station, or the kiosk.”

The Passport Parking app is available for iPhone and Android devices.

Drivers use the app to put more time on their car’s license plate. Staff who issue tickets look up the license plate number, to find out how much time a person has left in their parking spot.
