(CBS Connecticut) –– Operators of a Bristol farm were the victims of a theft this past weekend. Sales Manager Whit Betts says someone had gone through the corn field, picking ripe corn from about 20 rows.
He says the thief or thieves obviously knew what they were doing, since only the corn that was ready for sale was taken and it was picked without damage to the stalks.
Betts says the loss comes to about $1200.
He says the theft won’t affect the farm’s abilty to meet the upcoming demand. And he says they’ll be more vigilant watching the field going forward.
