New Natural Gas Pipeline In Wilton

(CBS Connecticut)-Yankee Gas today broke ground on a new natural gas pipeline that will expand the availability of natural gas in the town of Wilton.

The 3.5 mile underground pipeline will connect natural gas to Wilton’s downtown business district as well as schools and municipal buildings.  Wilton’s Energy commission estimates that by converting to natural gas, the town will save up to $500,000 annually in energy costs.

The project is the first under Governor Malloy’s Comprehensive Energy Strategy, enacted last year.
