Arrest Made After Officer Involved Shooting

(HARTFORD,Conn./CBS Connecticut)  –    Hartford Police have arrested a man in connection with an Officer involved shooting early Thursday. Police were called to  a report of shots fired and an attempted robbery.An officer spotted a 28 year old Derrick Gray  and pursued him on foot.

In a back yard on Campfield  Avenue , the Officer  came around the corner of the house and saw Gray pointing a gun at him.The Officer fired two shots and took cover.The suspect   once again fled on foot and was eventually captured.Gray was not struck by the Officer’s gunfire. His  weapon, was also recovered.

The victim  of the robbery on Broad Street was  found and was not injured.A single shell casing was located on Broad Street.

Gray , a  convicted felon  has been charged   with Criminal Attempt  Assault,Unlawful Discharge of a  Firearm,Robbery,Criminal Possession of a Firearm,Carrying a Pistol Without  a Permit and Reckless Endangerment.
