Family Of Teen Girl Killed In Fire Plans To Sue

SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ As the family of a Southington teen tragically killed in a fire at her home in June deals with her death, their attorney says they plan to sue the town and fire department for negligence.

Kristen Milano, 19, died in the apartment fire and Attorney Hugh Keefe claims the department failed to rescue her from the blaze.

Multiple reports say he’s put the town on notice and expects to move forward with the suit.

Yesterday, the man charged in her death, 18-year-old friend Eric Morelli of Southington, was in court, but a warrant remained sealed.

It’s believed Morelli threw a firecracker or sparkler inside the home as a prank and that started the blaze.
