WOLCOTT, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ The National Weather Service confirms a tornado touched down in Wolcott Sunday afternoon.
Police say around 1 p.m., a confirmed EF-0 rated tornado touched down. EF-0 is the weakest rated tornado.
There were no injuries, though there was minor damage to several trees as well as property.
Police Chief Edward Stevens says was first spotted in the area of Pat’s IGA on Wolcott Road about 12:50 p.m.; the tornado then traveled up Minor Road, touched down on the high school baseball field and continued to the Kalko Drive/Deer Run Lane area.
