(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Those who enjoy the outdoors will get a freebie this weekend.
Governor Dannel Malloy, along with the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, is announcing free admission for residents to all state parks and museums.
Malloy says it’s part of the Centennial celebration of the Connecticut parks system.
The governor made the announcement this morning during a press conference at Hamden’s Sleeping Giant State Park.
DEEP Commissioner Rob Klee advises residents to get to their park of choice early, as they have reached at or near capacity on a number of occasions this summer.
