UConn’s Cochran Nominated For “Good Works Team”

(CBS Connecticut) — University of Connecticut redshirt sophomore quarterback Casey Cochran of Monroe has been nominated to the “Allstate American Football Coaches Association Good Works Team.”  The 22-year-old program pays tribute to good works done by college football players.

The final roster of 22 award recipients will be named in September.

He played in eight games last season, starting the final four of the year,  and setting the UConn single-game passing record of 461 yards against Memphis on December 7.

UConn says Cochran is a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee at UConn, which oversees community service projects for the entire University and also serves as a voice between student-athletes and the athletic department.
He also takes part in programs with several local  schools and has volunteered at the New London Community Meal Center.
