HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Improving the nation’s health care system through science and innovation is the topic of a forum being sponsored by Connecticut U.S. Rep. John Larson.
The event is set for Monday at the Legislative Office Building in Hartford. It is scheduled to include a panel discussion featuring health care leaders in the state. Representatives of the insurance industry, hospitals, and Jackson Laboratory President and CEO Ed Liu are expected to participate.
The group is expected to discuss how science is driving change in health care and the implications for health care costs.
The Maine-based Jackson Laboratory is opening a new genomic medicine institute in Farmington, on the campus of the University of Connecticut Health Center. Construction has begun on a new 183,500-square-foot facility that is expected to open this fall.
