(EAST LYME,Conn./CBS Connecticut) – A man and a woman were arrested Friday night after State Police were called to investigate the report of two infants locked in a running vehicle parked at a Grocery Store in East Lyme.The 11 month old and 3 year old were in their car seats attached to the rear seat of the vehicle.
As Troopers began to determine how they would enter the vehicle, 30 year old Andrew Froberg of Old Orchard Beach ,Maine and 22 year old Elizabeth Elliott of Auburndale, Florida approached .Froberg identified the vehicle as his.He unlocked the vehicle, and the children, who police say were upset , were medically checked by Fire Department personnel.
The children had been in the running vehicle for more than 15 minutes.
The Department of Children and Families responded to the scene and assisted in the placement of the children.
Froberg and Elliott were charged with Risk of Injury to a Child,Leaving a Child Unsupervised, and Reckless Endangerment.They are being held on $20,000 bond each and are due in New London Superior Court Monday.
