(CBS Connecticut) — Interstate 84 in Southington will close in both directions at exit 30 (Marion Avenue) this weekend for a bridge replacement project. (See a live DOT webcam streaming video from the work site here.
The State Department of Transportation says the Southington Rest Area will close at 9:00 a.m. this Friday, June 27, and Marion Avenue will close at 5:00 p.m. At 6:00 p.m., crews will begin taking traffic off one lane eastbound at exit 27, and at 7:00 p.m., one lane westbound at exit 31. The re-direction of traffic will continue to phase in, until at 9:00 p.m. Friday, all lanes of Interstate 84 are closed in both directions. They’ll remain closed through 5:00 am Monday, June 30. Eastbound traffic will use Interstate 691 and westbound traffic will use Route 229.
