Police Say Woman Who Crashed Into School Bus Was High
NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - New Haven police say a woman who crashed a car into a school bus has said she smoked marijuana and took at least four prescription medications before the accident.
No one was injured in the crash Tuesday morning.
The eight children on the bus are between 6 and 14 years old, and all were taken to a hospital as a precaution.
Forty-three-year-old Brenda Dasilva of New Haven was charged with driving under the influence, eight counts of risk of injury to a minor and driving with a suspended license.
A phone listing for her couldn’t be found, and it’s not clear if she has a lawyer.
Police say Dasilva drove into the back of the bus, and her car veered off the road and struck a utility pole.
