New Haven Police Investigate Early Morning Shooting

(New Haven, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Police are investigating a shooting in New Haven in which a man was wounded early this morning.

They say 31-year-old James Turner was transported by private vehicle to Yale-New Haven Hospital around four a.m. after he was shot in the abdomen and hand.

Officers who interviewed Turner said the victim could not recall where he was shot–perhaps at State and Elm Streets.

Detectives say it’s likely Turner was hit outside the Farnham Court Housing Complex.

Turner’s injuries are belived to be non life-threatening.

Police have ruled out robbery as a motive but say they’re investigating “strong leads” in the case.
