(New Haven, Conn./CBS Connecticut) - One of the most popular draws in the history of the WTA’s New Haven Open will be back in the Elm City this summer.

Four-time champion Caroline Wozniacki has committed to playing this year’s event, according to tournament director Anne Worcester.

The 23-year-old from Denmark has been dubbed “Queen of New Haven” due in large part to her 24-2 record in six years at the event.

Wozniacki is currently ranked 14th in WTA singles play.

She has posted 21 career WTA singles title and is a former No. 1 player.

The New Haven Open takes place from August 15-23.

Wozniacki has been in the news recently for her much-publicized breakup with her former fiance, pro golfer Rory McIlroy.
