A federal judge today sentenced a Post Office employee convicted of taking bribes related to his job in Windsor.
Robert Giulietti was sentenced to 3-and-a-half years in prison. He has admitted taking 89-thousand dollars from two contractors.
In return, he used his job in the Post Office facilities department to give the contractors lucrative, inflated-price construction projects for the Postal Service.
Federal Prosecutors say Giulietti also gave post office contracts to a company called MGC run by his wife, with an address at his Cheshire home.
Using federal money, he over-paid his wife’s company, and other contractors were paid at lower rates to actually do the work.
Giulietti’s wife was over-paid almost a million dollars.
