Man Electrocuted, Dies

NEW MILFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ A man is dead after being electrocuted by power lines that fell on his vehicle in New Milford Tuesday night.

Police say they were called to Van Car Road around 7:04 p.m. on report of a vehicle fire. They found that the car was traveling east when electrical wires fell on the vehicle and set it ablaze.

The male driver and lone occupant was forced to exit the vehicle and police believe that the vehicle was energized by the live wires and as the man stepped out he was electrocuted.

He was taken to New Milford Hospital where he was pronounced dead. His name has not yet been released.

Police continue to investigate.
