Shooting Inside Family Dollar In Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ A shooting Saturday just before noon inside the Family Dollar on Park Street at Lafayette Street in Hartford.

It’s being tabbed a domestic incident involving a man and woman. Police identify the suspect as 51-year-old Elvin Perez-Soto.  He’s charged with attempted murder, assault, criminal possession of a firearm, reckless endangerment, and unlawful discharge of a firearm.

“At some point while in the store, the male produced a revolver, shot the female several times; the attack was right in the middle of the store,” Deputy Chief Brian Foley said. “He then turned the revolver on himself and shot himself once in the chest.”

The relationship between the two is unknown. The woman is in critical condition, Perez-Soto is stable, both are at Hartford Hospital.
