Arrest Made in Weekend Murder

(NEW BRITAIN,Conn./CBS Connecticut) – New Britain Police have made an arrest in  the Saturday night stabbing death of  a woman found near the intersection of Lafayette Street and Beaver Street.

22 year old Tyris Johnson of New Britain admitted killing  42 year old Laura Barlow, whose last known address was on Corbin Avenue in New Britain.She was pronounced dead at The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain.The cause of death was a stab wound to the torso.

Johnson is charged with one count of murder and is being held in lieu of a million dollars bond.Johnson is due in New Britain Superior Court Tuesday.
