Storrs, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ Bret McCormick of All-Star Girls Report says that the reigning freshman of the year in Big East women’s basketball is transferring to UConn.
He tweeted Tuesday evening that Natalie Butler, a 6-foot-5 center from Georgetown, will become a Husky.
Natalie Butler 6-5 C that transferred from Georgetown will be a UCONN Huskie. Will have 3 years left on her clock.

Multiple other news outlets have also reported news of Butler’s decision to transfer.
If Butler does in fact come to UConn, she would help fill a void left by graduating center Stefanie Dolson, now of the WNBA’s Washington Mystics.
Butler as a freshman averaged nearly 14 points and 13 rebounds a game in becoming the conference’s freshman of the year.
As a transfer, she would have to sit out the 2014-15 season, but would then have three years of eligibility remaining when she returned as a sophomore in 2015-16.
