Norwich Police Charge Suspect In Pursuit

(Norwich, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Norwich police say a city man whom officers attempted to pull over this morning is under arrest on motor vehicle and drug charges.

Early this morning, they say officers tried to stop 24-year-old Reginald Payton in the area of Norwich Avenue.

That’s when Payton allegely sped off toward Route 169 into Lisbon.

He was later picked up by local and state police.

Police are charging Payton with, among other offenses, reckless driving, engaing an officer in pursuit, possession of narcotics and possession of drug paraphernalia.

He’s being held on $250,000 pending arraignment in Norwich Superior Court.
