Shoulder Surgery For UConn Center Brimah

(CBS Connecticut) — UConn freshman center Amida Brimah will undergo surgery on his left shoulder  Friday at the UConn Health Center.

The procedure involved is a left shulder arthroscopy.  A release from the Athletics Department says though Brimah played in all forty games as the Huskies played their way to the National Champiohnship,   he was bothered by the shoulder at times.  A recent MRI found a torn labrum, which the surgery will repair.  Recovery usually takes four or five months,

Brimah, who is from Accra, Ghana, started 17 games for the Huskies last season,  averaging 4.1 points and 3.0 rebounds.  He was named to the American Athletic Conference All-Rookie Team.Kentucky 54 v UConn 60NCAA Men's Final Four - Championship
