NORWICH, Conn. (AP) _ The driver of a pickup truck that struck and killed a man waiting for a taxi in southeastern Connecticut last year has pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and drunken driving.

Fifty-four-year-old Juan Davila of Griswold was arraigned Thursday in Norwich Superior Court.

Police say Davila was driving home from the Mohegan Sun casino at about 2 a.m. on April 20, 2013, after having drinks with friends when his truck failed to negotiate a curve and struck the two men in a parking lot in Preston.

Twenty-eight-year-old Lakendrick Horn of York, Ala., died and 48-year-old Arnold Feaster of Ledyard was injured.

Davila remains free on $200,000 bail and is due back in court May 15.

Horn’s family and Feaster are suing Davila, the Mohegan Tribe and others over the accident.
