(Storrs, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – The University of Connecticut is reporting a bomb threat on the Storrs campus.
The University of Connecticut has sent an update via their website reporting that classes will resume at 12:30pm. The Tasker Building, the site of the alleged bomb threat, remains closed as the investigation continues.
The Shelter in Place has been lifted, and the rest of the Storrs campus has been opened to resume normal activity.
The Shelter in Place order at UConn is still in effect. On their Alert website, UConn said all classes taking place after 12:30pm are planned to resume as scheduled. The University announced on Twitter that a new update will be provided at 11:30am.
In an alert posted on its web site, the school says the threat was made to the Tasker Building, also known as the admissions building.
The alert advises those in the immediate area to evacuate. Other campus locations have been advised to “shelter in place”.
Commuters, faculty and others traveling to the campus are advised to stay off campus until further direction is provided.
