(CBS Connecticut) — Governor Malloy has proclaimed this weekend “Husky Weekend” in Connecticut, in honor of the University of Connecticut men’s and women’s basketball teams’ appearances in the NCAA’s Final Four. (Read the Proclamation)
His proclamation points out that UConn is the only school with teams in both the men’s and women’s Final Four, and he urges state residents to wear blue and white to show their pride.
UConn President Susan Herbst says the success of the student athletes is a credit to their hard work and the dedication of their coaches — and also to “the state’s unwavering support of its flagship university.
