LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) – A 22-year-old man is facing arraignment on drug charges in connection with a heroin overdose death in Torrington.
Sanden Abrahams is scheduled to appear in Bantam Superior Court in Litchfield on Monday.
He was arrested Saturday and held on $75,000 bail.
Friends and neighbors told the Republican-American of Waterbury that the overdose victim was 22-year-old Kevin Smith.
Police say Abrahams called 911 shortly after midnight Friday from his girlfriend’s apartment in Torrington.
Officers and paramedics say they found the victim unresponsive and 55 bags of heroin in the apartment, where police believe Abrahams also was living.
Police say they also arrested Abrahams’ girlfriend, Taylor Delbene, for risk of injury to a minor because a 2-year-old child was in the apartment.
It’s not clear if Abrahams has a lawyer.
