Hartford’s New Fire Chief Sworn In

HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) _ Hartford City Hall was the site of a formal swearing-in ceremony Friday for Hartford’s 37th Fire Chief.

“If I may, just give me a second so I can maintain my equilibrium and take this all in,” said new Fire Chief Carlos Huertas.

The Hartford native started with the department in 1980 and is ready to serve the city in his new role.

“We will continue to improve system processes and ensure we are in line with the Mayor’s vision to make Hartford a great city,” Huertas said.

Mayor Pedro Segarra said it was a well-earned promotion.
