New Haven HS Student Arrested For Bomb Threats On School

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (CBS Connecticut) _ New Haven Police arrested a junior at Wilbur Cross High School Monday after receiving a threatening call this morning.

“At about 9:10 we received a 9-1-1 call from a male stating that he was going to blow up Wilbur Cross High School, one of the two larger high schools in New Haven,” Officer David Hartman said,

Wilfredo Gonzalez, 18, was arrested and charged with breach of peace, falsely reporting and misuse of a 911 call.

Police say he admitted to making a similar call March 4 and charges are pending in that case.

The school was evacuated for about 90 minutes.

No bomb was found and everyone remained safe.
