Former Danbury Prison Guard Sentenced For Sexual Abuse Of Inmate

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (AP) _ A former employee of a federal prison in Danbury has been sentenced to five months in prison for sexual abuse of an inmate.

Forty-six-year-old Steven Wolff of New York City was sentenced Wednesday in U.S. district court in Bridgeport.

Federal prosecutors say Wolff had sex with a female inmate several times in the boiler area of the Federal Correctional Institution in Danbury in 2011. Wolff was working there as a foreman in the department responsible for utility repairs.

Authorities say he provided contraband including hair dye and greeting cards to the inmate, and also gave contraband items to another inmate who acted as a lookout.
Wolff pleaded guilty in August to one count of sexual abuse of a ward. He faces five years of supervised release after completing his prison term.
