(Southington, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – Southington police are holding a man in connection with an armed robbery in town last month.

Under arrest is 31-year-old Brett Downs.

They say on February 7, downs entered the Kaival Food Mart/Gulf Gas Station on Meriden-Waterbury Turnpike, brandishing a silver knife.

Police say Downs ordered a clerk to open the store’s cash register by force.

He allegedly made off with $180 and fled on foot.

Downs was taken into custody at his house.

He faces robbery and larceny charges and is being held on $100,000 bond.
