Health Exchange Surpasses Enrollment Goal

(Hartford, Conn./CBS Connecticut) - With just about three weeks to go before the deadline to sign up for a health plan, the state’s insurance exchange is announcing it has surpassed its self-imposed goal of 100,000 enrollees.
Access Health CT reports the number as of Sunday was 152,561.
That’s a full 50 percent greater than that original goal.
Consumers have until March 31 to sign up for coverage.
According to Access Health CT’s breakdown, more than 60,000 have signed up for private plans.
The rest are receiving their coverage under Medicaid.
Just over 700,000 have visited the web site with about 275,000 calls answered at the call center.
