HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) — Police in Windsor are charging a man with murder after they were called to a home in town on a report of a stabbing.

Just after 7:30 p.m. Thursday,  police were called to 64 Bina Avenue.  Upon arrival, they found 40-year-old Carl Mitchell with a stab wound to the chest.

Witnesses told officers that 44-year-old Ray Smith had stabbed mitchell; the two had apparently had an altercation with Smith attacking Mitchell.  Although the motive is unclear, witnesses say the stabbing occurred after the two discussed a phone call.

Smith stayed at the scene,  listed as the address of both men.  After a brief struggle, police used a taser to subdue him.  In addition to murder, he’s facing charges of interfering with police.
