Threat Suspect Appears in Court
LITCHFIELD, Conn. (AP) _ An 18-year-old Connecticut woman has been arrested after police said she allegedly made verbal threats of violence against two schools.
Police said Natalie Carpenter of Torrington was arrested Tuesday. She appeared in Bantam Superior Court on Wednesday on charges of conspiracy to commit first-degree assault and criminal attempt to commit first-degree assault. Her bail was set at $300,000 dollars and she was ordered not to enter school property or possess weapons if she is released.
It’s not immediately known who is representing her. She returns to Litchfield Superior Court on March 18.
Police said the alleged threats involved Danbury and Stratford high schools but no specific students were mentioned. Security was increased at the schools.
Police are continuing their investigation and court records in the case have been temporarily sealed.
