(Storrs, Conn./CBS Connecticut) – UConn’s Breanna Stewart has been named the American Athletic Conference player of the week for the fourth time this season.
The sophomore from Syracuse, New York averaged 21.6 points per game during a three-game stretch last week that saw the Huskies notch wins over SMU, No. 24 Rutgers, and No. 3 Louisville.
Stewart shot 46.7 percent for the three games.
For the season, Stewart averages 19.5 points per game and 8.3 rebounds.
The top-ranked Huskies square off Saturday in the inaugural American Athletic Conference tournament at the Mohegan Sun Arena.
