HARTFORD (CBS Connecticut) _ The flu continues to take its toll in Connecticut.
Three deaths just last week have brought the total number of flu-related deaths in state this winter season to eight.
The State Department of Public Health reports 75 people were hospitalized with lab-confirmed flu cases just last week; the week before, 88 people with the flu landed in the hospital and since October, there have been 474 people hospitalized with confirmed flu cases.
Just shy of 2,400 positive flu cases have been reported statewide this season.
